Licensed electricians serving Geneva homes and businesses — EV chargers, panel upgrades, standby generators, and everyday electrical repairs.
Geneva has a lot of genuinely old houses — the blocks around Third Street and the river include homes built well before 1930. In that vintage we still occasionally find active knob-and-tube wiring hiding in attics and walls, and that matters beyond safety: plenty of insurers won’t write a policy on a home that still has it. If you’re buying, selling, or renewing, it’s worth knowing what’s actually up there.
Geneva also runs its own municipal electric utility rather than ComEd, so service upgrades go through the City. We handle both the inspection and the coordination. Free estimates, upfront pricing, and a 5-year workmanship warranty on installations.
Outlets, switches, circuits, lighting, and troubleshooting anywhere in the house.
Offices, retail, and warehouses — service calls, lighting, and buildouts.
Level 2 home chargers wired, permitted, and inspected — usually in one visit.
Whole-home standby generators with automatic transfer switches, sized for your house.
100-amp to 200-amp service upgrades for homes running out of breakers.
Smart switches, doorbells, network runs, and structured cabling.
Same crew, same phone number as before — now 100% electrical. Read our Google reviews or meet the team.
The City of Geneva, through its Building Division — and because Geneva runs its own electric utility, the service side goes through the City as well rather than through ComEd. That’s simpler than it sounds: one authority, one set of schedules. We file the permit, meet the inspector, and handle the utility coordination on service upgrades.
The clearest signs are in the attic and basement — individual black-sheathed conductors running through porcelain tubes and knobs rather than a single cable. Two-prong outlets throughout the house are a hint but not proof, since a previous owner may have replaced some circuits and left others. The only reliable answer comes from someone opening the panel and tracing what’s actually connected. We can tell you in one visit how much is still live and how much has already been replaced.
